  1. Excellent Product + Clean Chain = Happy Biker
This was my first experience with a Motul product, and it was a great experience.
For my 2001 Triumph Sprint ST 955i, I used kerosene to thoroughly clean the chain and sprockets of existing hardened grease and cruft. Once clean, I liberally applied the Motul lube in accordance with directions on the can. The lube, once applied to the chain, takes on a wet, slightly milky appearance that remains wet for a few hours, finally settling into a waxy state that is slightly tacky to the touch. It kind of reminds me how I used to lube my mountain bike chains with paraffin back in the day; a nice protective coating on the chain, with strong lubricating properties. The tackiness is likely unavoidable, but it certainly has less attraction than other spray-on lube I’ve used, and I have noticed over the past few hundred miles that the chain has resisted picking up any additional cruft, such as obvious dirt, rock chips, and “pavement dust”. The chain now looks and sounds better than ever, and offers very little resistance when turning the rear wheel by hand; all of which is a pretty good indicator that it is properly lubed. If you want to know how well someone cares for their bike, just look at their chain.
Motul recommends lubing the chain pretty frequently (recommendations on the can), and I think I’m going to follow their instructions completely on this, just to be a good citizen. My experience thus far with Motul has been excellent, and I’m considering using some of the 4T oil on my next oil change.
    Love this stuff.

  2. Easy application, dries quickly, keeps the chain working as designed!
I’ve used this stuff on my 2013 Yahama FZ8 since I got the bike. I use it almost weekly after I wash and degrease the chain. It’s kept my chain looking good and tight for 6000 miles so far.
It “dries” quickly, in that, by the time you’ve turned the chain a full rotation, it’s pretty tacked to the chain already. Comes out really smooth and not like a misty aerosol like other brands. Lays down exactly where I need it. I’ve never had any fly up on my back or seat and I’ve ridden almost immediately after using this on my chain.
I’m on my 2nd bottle now, and will continue to use it for the life of this chain.
    Update:
Over a year later, and I’m at 14,000 miles now. I’ve used 4-5 bottles of this chain lube so far and my chain shows very little signs of wear and tear. I have 1 link that’s starting to get a bit gummed up, so I need to do a little more deep cleaning on that link, but otherwise, this lube has worked well for over 14,000 miles on a not-nicely-ridden daily driver 463lb motorcycle 🙂

  3. This Lube Penetrates Deeper than John Holmes!
I’ve used quite a few chain lubes over the past few years and have decided I like ones that are less greasy and more waxy. Some of the other lubes tend to attract dirt that can get all up in your chains business like a wedgie on a hot summer day. Everybody used to rave about the DuPont Teflon Multi-Use Dry Wax and I found a can of it and fell in love. Unfortunately they changed the formula and the replacement isn’t as good in my opionion.
Luckily I tried the Motul Factory Line Chain lube. This stuff is the tits!! After properly cleaning my chain Ii use a grunge brush and some diesel fuel) and letting it dry a bit, I apply the motul lube. It goes on super liquidy and penetrates the chain, then quickly thickens and turns into a white waxy substance. It’s super easy to see where you have applied the lube and it seems to attract less road grime and grit when compared to other lubes I have used. Even after a week or 2 or riding everyday I can still see the wax on the chain so i know it’s doing it’s job. Honestly this is as good or probably better than the discontinued DuPont teflon stuff and the motul is made specifically for bikes.

  4. This is the best chain lube you will buy
This is the best chain lube you will buy. I’ve used this brand of lube for about 8 years now. The product that I was using before is the Motul Chain Lube Road+. Two full tire circles of this lube is more than enough for 300 miles. I’ve done about 6000 miles on a 14000 mile chain and it didn’t even need adjustment with this lube and that’s on a torquey Bandit 1250. I cannot recommend this product enough, it doesn’t make a mess as long as you wait at least 15 minutes after spraying. Leave it overnight for best results. I’ve carried a can on my long distance rides (1500 miles, 5 days) A lot of people use this in Europe and me personally, I will not switch brands. Recently bought a can for my Kawasaki ZRX1200R here in the U.S. and I’m glad I found it.

  5. Great chain lube
Works great. One of my top 3 chain lubes i would use. It does however apply a very white layer of lube on the chain.

  6. Best chain lube I’ve ever used, stays on chain not your wheel!
I’ve tried a lot of different chain lubes, paste, etc. This has worked the best. Use a Ninja lube tool with this and your life of motorcycle maintenance will be happier and your chain will live longer.

  7. It does the job well
I’ve used this the last few times I’ve lubricated my MCycle chain and it works really well. It seems to stick to the chain quite well and the cycle always seems to ride just a bit better after each use. I also use the Motul chain cleaner which also does a great job getting the old grease off of your chain. I recommend them both!

  8. Amazing chain lube all around. Doesn’t fling off and you can actually see it during application. Doesn’t hold up against rain as well as some other products but would ultimately recommend this lube to anyone.
