The 2024 Toyota Corolla is a compact car available in sedan and hatchback body styles. It’s known for its fuel efficiency, reliability, and safety. For 2024, Toyota has added a Nightshade Edition appearance package that gives the Corolla a sportier look.
The Corolla comes in five trims: LE, SE, XSE, Hybrid LE, and Hybrid XLE. The LE and SE trims come with a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 139 horsepower. The XSE gets a more powerful 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 169 horsepower. Both engines are paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT).
The Hybrid LE and Hybrid XLE trims come with a hybrid powertrain that combines a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine with an electric motor. The hybrid system makes a combined 121 horsepower and gets an estimated 53 mpg in combined city and highway driving.
All Corolla trims come standard with Toyota’s Safety Sense 2.0 suite of driver-assistance features. This suite includes automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, and adaptive cruise control.
Exterior Design
The body of the car will serve as the main axis of the exterior design. Some notable updates are made to the front and rear profiles, which include bolder and angular features.
The front wrap has a large and aggressive-looking honeycomb mesh which lies at the bottom and extends towards the sides of the car. The slim and sharp-looking headlights are in line with the mesh top ribbon that runs the full length from left to right.
Lean in and lift at the outer edges so that they extend towards the front wheels. Also, there are additional reflectors just below the headlights and they are used to house newly designed LED daytime lamps.
The side file looks more sporty than the current corolla, and the black side skirts that stretch down from the bottom of the car body make the car look visually closer to the ground. Although it does not have a coupe-like silhouette like some models in the automotive market, the overall design language adopts a steeper ceiling design that constantly flows backwards, creating an elegant and smooth finish. There are also new body lines such as shoulder crease just below the windows and personalized line just above the side skirts, which adds a more detailed body feel.
At the back, a longer and continuous composite rear lamp is used on the back door of the shoe. Similar to the front headlight designs, the rear lamps have distinctive sharp lighting elements and are also very captivating.
The method of connecting the rear lamps through the top shoe spoiler helps to enhance the visual display. The large bottom grid is used to help balance the optical mass in the upper half of the back body and works perfectly with the larger and bolder front grid design.
Interior Features
